I'm really upset at my guestbook being used for drug advertising. It's disgusting and I'd appreciate it stopped. Until I can spend the time to remove all the trash I found there, I'll have to close it down. I apologise to those who would have wanted to add something worthwhile.
Camp Street again

April 7, 2009
I went to Camp Street last Saturday again. I had a really good time again except I drew a blank right at the beginning of " Gypry Rover" and could not get it back so I played another one. They were all so supportive but it aggrivated me that right after i sat back down, I remembered them all quite easily. My new musician friends, Don Jones and Ken Ryan were there and Ken was going to play the upright bass to back me up on it and I blew it! I've agreed to try it again next time which will be the first Saturday in July, I think.
Keep your fingers crossed.

Everyone needs to have friends over to eat and play music. I tried it last Sunday and had a great time. I've met some new musicians in the last several months and there is a promise of more fun to come. I'll post some photos.
Camp Street evening

March 8, 2009
My friend, Don JOnes who works at Encore Music in Nacogdoches has been trying to get me to go to the open mic at Camp Street Cafe in Crockett, Tx for alomst a year , I think. Don and his friends werte playing at the Freedom Hill Trade Days just before I played and before I left, they had convinced me to go. I must admit, I had a great time, the 3 songs I played went over well( they all laughed and clapped loudly) and the attention I got for the rest of the evening and the great time I had will definatly take me back that direction. I even got an offer to have a place to sleep for the night at the home of one of the musicians with a private guestroom. They really made me feel welcome and I was asked to leave my email address. I am looking forward to hearing from them and will keep you updated.

For Those Who Dream
-
January 18, 2009
For those who dream the dreams of sleep
Are blessed upon their open eyes
That bits and pieces dissappear
And the dissappointments fly.
For those who dream the dreams awake,
They are at the mercy of the livings fate,
along with that which dissappears
Are the reasons that we try.
For those who dream for love's own sake
Take all the time you need to take
For all the dreams that touch your heart
Come full circle by & by.
To Myself

January 16, 2009
And now the day has passed in silence,
Gone before the breath escapes my lips.
The glow in flame that was the sun,
Slips quietly through my fingertips.
Within in my head a hum persists
From the absence of a moment missed
The silver ghost, the waneing moon,
Among my dreams , dance hands in fist
With hands that reach out to the night,
and sing my song till mornings mist
Has draped itself upon my brow,
And love has finally kissed my lips.
Don't give up on me yet!

I promise things will continue. I have the Celtic Seasoning Cd in the process of being mailed to Cdbaby and it will be availiable this month. I don't know when I'll get the next one done but I have a cd of spiritual songs in the works. I won't quit even though I will probably only get the Celtic Seasoning out this year. I have to come up with money for the studio. Happy New Year!

Please understand that I speak and read english. If I can't understand what is entered into my guest book, I will probably delete it. It doesn't mean I don't want to hear from you, it means I can't decide whether you're trying to say you like my site or whether youre using it to your own benifit and banking on the fact that I don't know what you've put there.. Please put your entries in English. I love hearing from you.

December 29, 2008
With a wonderful gesture from my brother, Clyde, in Little Rock, I'm up and running again. I'm a little slow but I'm getting there. I hope to have my second Classic Folk Cd out by the middle of January. It isn't all I 'd hoped it would be but it is 10 of my favorites and I got to do some harmony with myself. I'm sorry I was off the air for a little while but I'm back. Bless all of you who stop by and see what I'm up to. May your 2009 yr be better than ever!

Don't have any special places to play lined up except the Nine Flags Fest down town in Nacogdoches on the 22nd of this month. Things have slowed down a lot but I've met a few new friends and we've started getting together on the weekends and cooking dinner and playing around the fire in the fire pit. It's fun. I'll be playing at the Christmas lighting ceremony on the 22nd at 6:15 in the evening downtown on the main stage in Nac. Hopefully I can make a quick getaway and run to Jacksonville to Roland's Next Door to hear " Beyond the Pale" with Randy Brown opening. I'll miss the opening set but I'll catch Beyond the Pale and they are the best in Celtic in this area.

I'm alway looking for people to play music with unfortunatly, I can't afford to travel too far unless it's going to bring in at least a little money. I'm looking forward to playing in Little Rock this weekend. I'm developing a new couriosity ( can't spell) for old folk and traditional music ,which I think my voice is more suited for any how, and the history behind it. Would love to share some music and ideas with anyone who's interested. Meantime , I'll keep playing and post more pictures.

I'm always glad to get feedback from guests in my guestbook but please 1. keep it clean - please and 2. please understand that I only speak and read english so if you enter anything in another language, I won't be able to understand what you wrote. If you don't speak english, I hope you enjoy my music anyway.

September 30, 2008
Tomorrow we will welcome in October 2008 and I can already feel the chill in the air. This Friday I will be down at my friend's tourist shop in downtown Nacogdoches with a glass of wine and my guitar. Folk music seems to be in here so that's what I'll probably play. Saturday I'll be at the Farmers Market in the morning helping out and in the evening, I plan on driving to Crockett to see what the Camp Street Cafe is all about with a friend. I hate going places for the first time alone. I'll let you know how it goes.
Sunday morning, Amie & I are headed to Gatesvillt to see my Mom & Dad.
Hope you all have a great weekend.!
Information on Pinnicle Mountain Festival, Arkansas
-
September 21, 2008
Clyde's friend, Janet, writes from Arkansas --Hey, just wanted to thank you again for singing with Clyde in the concert! I also wanted to give you the dates for the Pinnicle Mountain Festival..... Oct. 18th and 19th. It is such fun and we play all day on Sat and 1/2 day on Sun. We play at the entrance of the festival under some big shade trees. People are out to have fun, the weather is usually great and fall out there is wonderful.
Everyone in the festival is in costume, there will be indians, mountain men and women, civil war sholdiers , etc.... It will be a full, fun , music weekend.
We survived!

September 18, 2008
We made it through. I got my electricity back about 2 days ago and all my clients and neighbors have all wanted me to come help at once - not to mention I have two trees down in my own yard. It's ok. I'm happy to help. What goes around comes around.
Ike is almost here!
-
September 12, 2008
I'm sitting at my house listening to the news and weather. There is a tornado warning and flash flood warnings out. I went to Walmart yesterday evening and the bread section was empty and the place was crawling with people fillinf their baskets with food and things that were easy to cook. We're not on the coast but Ike is headed straight for us if it stays on the path that it's on. Last time, I lost about 10 trees on my property and was without electricity for about 2 weeks and had to go stay at a friends house down the road.
I've been watching the clouds move in and now there is no blue to be seen . The winds are picking up and I've tied down and covered everything I could. The temp has dropped from 92 to 82 in the last hour and is still dropping. The weather channel is predicting winds of over 50 mph possible tomorrow and rains up to 5 inches. We'll wait and see.
waiting for the hurricane
-
August 31, 2008
The hurricane in the gulf is suppose to be here by tuesday. I've already had a few friends call to make sure I'm going to be ok ( thank you). It's been so hot here in Texas that I haven't been able to do a lot of work so I may have to use the money for my granddaughters next month's piano lessons to stock up on lamp oil and wicks and some easy to keep food items. Last time we were without electricity for two weeks and it was too hot to even sleep on the back porch. I stayed for a week at a friends house down the road who still had everything.
I don't have any chickens any more. The raccoons and possums have killed them all and I can't seem to get any help fixing things around here so it's just me and Amie and the cats - and my guitars. Hopefully it won't be as bad as the last time.

August 29, 2008
I spent a few days in Gatesville at my parents farm. Mom lost the copy of the Classic Folk Volume 1 I gave her so I guess I need to get her another one. I do all the productions myself so I'll ahve to wait until I make enough to make more. It will have to be before I go back to Little Rock in October for the Pinnacle Festival or I'll be in big trouble. I mowed the large lawn and put am ac unit in the window for my Mom. The woman can afford to be comfortable but refuses to spend the money. I don't understand it! if she wanted a new car - she'd write a check but she won't pay to be comfortable! Go figure!
Idea about the Classic Folk volume 2
-
August 19, 2008
I was talking to my sister-in-law, and she said she thought that what I had done in recording the rough draft for the CF vol 2 " Celtic Seasoning" sounded good enough to put out as it is ( minus one of the songs that my brother said wasn't old enough ). I'm toying with the idea. I already have the cover and inside design done. I'm thinking about it. I've already had requests for it. I'll post it when I decide.
